Hectic
Sorry for the lack of updates in the past week or so, but school has kicked me ass the last couple of weeks. My journalism classes have been vicious this term with assignments and group projects. I now know more about AIM and the Toyota FJ Cruiser than I'd ever want to.
In my advertising strategy class I was a part of a group project that conducted an online survey and two focus groups to figure out consumer awareness of new AIM products and the overall perception of AOL and AIM. The results didn't turn out too well for AOL because most people associated it with 'slow' and childlike.After gathering the results, we also found a direct correlation between the rise in texting/social networking sites and the decline of instant messaging. It also appears that social networking websites have reached a peak and people are becoming less interested in them, checking them out of habit rather than a desire to.
In my copywriting class I had to create two ads for the Toyota FJ Cruiser. One a print ad that would appear in a magazine, and one a guerrilla ad. Sadly I did not actually create the ad since it was a copywriting class and not a design class, but I'll provide you with my ads eventually. I just bought a new iMac (I'll tell you about it on the next blog) and I need to get all of my stuff onto the new computer before I can upload it.
